History:

Harland Sanders — Born September 9, 1890, on a farm near Henryville, Indiana, he learned to cook at an early age. After serving in the U.S. Army and trying his hand at several careers, including firefighter, streetcar operator, and insurance salesman, he later began operating service stations in Nicholasville and Corbin, Kentucky. There, he began serving his delicious fried chicken to interstate travelers and eventually perfected his pressure cooker method and secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices.
